It's Summer in Australia and it seems like everyone is on holidays! With the temperature rising and spring fruit in abundance, we thought we’d pull together our favourite go to Icy Pole recipes.
Icy Poles are adored by kids and adults alike but what about the impact on the environment from single use packaging? We've designed a reusable, dishwasher safe Icy Pole Mould set made from premium silicone to make it easy to use and durable. Made from LFGB certified silicone, the LFGB test ensures that silicones do not contain any harmful or toxic substances! At the end of it's life, we offer our Silicone Take-Back Program. If Icy Poles are in high rotation in your household - we gotcha!
We've just introduced a new addition to our Icy Pole range - the Individual Icy Pole Set. Available in sets of 4 in two different colours, Chai & Twilight - these new additions are for those that don't want to fuss with Icy Pole sticks. Eliminate food waste by saving left over smoothies, fruit purees and juices. BPA free, LFGB certified & dish washer safe these are perfect for controlling batches for those with allergies.
Home made Icy Poles are a great way to cool down, stay hydrated & limit the amount of packaging going into landfill. Not to mention you can save food going to waste (hello sad looking strawberries - to the freezer!), you'll know exactly what's in your Icy Pole treats & you can save money by batch making up to 12 Icy Poles (roughly 70 milliliters per Icy Pole). If you're looking for some great activities for the kids during school holidays - decorating your Icy Poles is a great creative outlet (and at least an hour of entertainment).
To store your Icy Poles we've come up with a number of solutions - no single use packaging in sight. Our team recommends:
- Silicone Food Pouches: Large or Small should do the trick! Or check out our new Ice Cream Mould Set!
- Rectangle Glass Eco Stows: these babies come in a set of three so you’ve plenty of options!
- Not technically freezer storage but it’s the best option for on the go! Our Insulated Cooler Bags will help keep your homemade Icy Poles chilled on all your adventures!
Homemade Icy Poles can be made vegan friendly, vegetarian, nut-free, made from dairy or non-diary alternatives & be incredibly quick (Coconut Water & fresh mint anyone?) or super creative (check out Panaceas Pantry for some amazing ideas!).

1 cup mashed avocado (over ripe is perfect)
6 teaspoons of lime juice
2-2.5 cups of coconut water (or cooled, boiled water)
3-4 tablespoons of coconut cream
Tip: for a sweeter version add honey, coconut sugar or maple syrup.
Method
- Place all ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
- Pour into 12 moulds leaving a little space at the top
- Place Mould cover with Icy Pole sticks
- Place in freezer overnight (minimum 5 hours to set)
- Remove cover, pop out Icy Poles
Decorating (optional)
Melt 100 grams of chocolate (choose your preference of diary or non diary alternatives) and dip each Icy Pole into the chocolate. Allow to drip clean and place on a tray with Un-Baking Paper to prevent sticking. Add chopped nuts, shredded coconut or seeds or salt for extra texture on the chocolate layer. Return to the freezer for a couple of hours.
Serve or store in plastic free freezer solution of your choice.
