Sophie Kovic: How To Get The Most Out Of Your Bars

At Seed & Sprout, our mission goes beyond just selling sustainable products; we're dedicated to helping you make sustainable choices too.

We're passionate about maximising the lifespan of your products, ensuring they serve you well while reducing waste for a healthier planet

When it comes to our waterless Bar range, things are no different. So here are some of our best tips to making your Bars last!

Soap Storage

The most important thing to keep your Bar in good shape is to keep it as dry as you can between uses. The best way to do that is to store it properly and we've got three alternatives that work brilliantly:

  1. Our NEW Soap Dishes - dual layer drainage best for body, shampoo or conditioner bars
  2. The Soap Holders - ideal for your Vege, Dish & Stain Remover Bars
  3. Award Winning Stainless Steel Travel Tins - perfect for when you're on the go

Super sophisticated yet still practical, our NEW and improved Soap Holders feature a two-layer design for optimal performance. Say goodbye to soggy soap bars with our bar soap holders engineered with top drainage trays. Strategically placed holes allow excess water to drain into the bottom tray ensuring your bars remain dry and fresh for longer-lasting use.

They're available in three colours to suit any bathroom decor: Mushroom, Terracotta and Liquorice.

Soap Dishes

The perfect BFF for your Dish Bar, Vege Bar or Stain Remover Bar, our new Soap Holder has a gorgeous matte finish. When it comes to doing the dishes, it's been cleverly designed to fit the bar as well as your Beechwood Pot Scrubber on top to keep everything together.

We love that our S&S community have reported using these elegant pot holders for all sorts of things like jewellery and knick knacks!!!

Our Stainless Steel Travel Tins won a Design Award in 2023 (yay!) so we're really confident they work hard to keep your bar dry. After a few variations over the years, we've developed the perfect solution to take your bars on the road:

  • The internal drainage tray keeps your bar elevated so it doesn't get soggy
  • The tins come with five different lids so there's no guessing as to what's inside: Shampoo, Conditioner, Face, Body & logo only
  • Made of 316 stainless steel so you only need to buy once
  • It's lightweight and easy to open

Wet your hair thoroughly, then rub the shampoo bar between your hands or directly onto your hair to create lather. Massage the lather into your scalp and hair, then rinse thoroughly. You may need to make some adjustments to find the right amount and technique for your hair type. Shampoo bars should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated area away from water.

Shampoo bars are exceptional for the health of your hair. Our Solid Shampoo Bars contain less chemicals and preservatives than traditional liquid shampoos. Our Shampoo and Conditioner Bars are Australian Made, Vegan Friendly, and free from Parabens, SLS's, Silicones and Synthetic Fragrance.

How to Use a Shampoo Bar Sophie Kovic

As your hair is already wet, start by massaging your Conditioner Bar between your hands to wet it slightly. You can now run your Conditioner Bar directly through your hair. If you prefer a full coverage you can run the bar from root to tip but if you find that it’s only your ends that need special attention then just focus the Bar there. Leave for 2-3 minutes and rinse thoroughly.

Can I Bring a Soap Bar On A Plane?

These all natural and plastic free body bars replace your body wash and smell simply AMAZING. There's Lemon Myrtle, Rose Geranium and Citrus & Mint.

One of the things about these bars that customers love (other than how awesome they make their skin feel) is that one bar replaces one bottle of body wash. They're also budget friendly - you're likely to spend more on plastic body wash than on these bars.

Work the bar into a bit of a lather using (wet) hands. One bar lasts for ages (especially if you store it properly) and the fragrances are all very lush and long lasting.

How often should I use Face Cleanser

We recommend using The Face Cleanser Bar twice daily in the morning and evening. With 4.9 stars from our customers, this soap free face wash is a hydrating, skin-cleansing solution. Nourish your skin with high levels of Vitamin C & E from Kakadu Plum, Hemp Oil, and Shea Butter. Perfect for sensitive skin, free from parabens, SLS's and synthetic fragrance free. All you need to do is wet the bar, work into a lather and apply in a circular motion onto either a konjac sponge or directly onto damp skin (careful of your eyes!). Rinse and gently towel dry.

Our Charcoal Face Bar gives a deeper cleanse and can be used every day on oily skin types but should be limited to twice weekly if you have dry skin. Our natural face cleansers contain Kakadu Plum, a rich source of vitamin c, a powerful antioxidant that promotes bright, clear and glowing skin.

It's special because it detoxifies and rebalances your skin. It contains some pretty epic all natural ingredients like Activated Charcoal which draws out harmful impurities, excessive sebum and dirt leaving your skin really smooth.

It's also got Organic Inulin Prebiotic, from Jerusalem Artichoke that helps to balance and maintain a healthy skin microbiome.

The Vege Bar is a game-changer for a healthy lifestyle: a simple, eco-friendly solution for getting rid of pesticides, bacteria and dirt. Crafted in Australia using essential oils, this natural produce cleaner is so easy to use.

Simply fill up your sink with water, shake the Bar around under the surface, then go ahead and give your produce a good wash. We like to use our Vegetable Brush or Pot Scrubber for this, or you can rub the Bar directly onto your apples, celery and everything in between. Ensure you rinse everything thoroughly before storing or eating.

The best part? Our food-safe fruit and veg cleaner leaves no aftertaste, allowing your produce to taste just as it should. Store out of direct contact with water when not in use.

Vege Bar

Our Dish Bar (aka eco-friendly dishwashing liquid) was our top selling product last year! It's an innovative solution to conventional liquid dish soap that you can't get enough of! Its high concentration allows for efficient cleaning with minimal product usage. Just like the rest of our Bar Range, there's no plastic packaging and you simply add water to create the suds!

  • Scrape dishes to remove excess grease and food
  • For plates, bowls and cups, Wet your sponge and rub dish soap block to create suds. (Repeat as needed to refresh suds.) Wash items and rinse well
  • For pots and pans, use a scrubber or scourer
  • Works in warm or cold water. We prefer warm water for best results
  • Use it till it's gone, otherwise this product is compostable.

Dish Bar

This stain-fighting wonder bar will leave your clothes clean without any synthetic fragrances or pesky plastic bottles. Hooray! Filled with Lemon Myrtle and Eucalyptus essential oils, this Stain Removing Laundry Bar smells cleansing and refreshing. It’s also Certified 100% Palm Oil Free.
