Fresh Margarita Recipe!
Did someone say Margarita? Treat yourself and your guests to a refreshing margarita, crafted with fresh lime juice and premium organic ingredients. This delightful twist on a classic cocktail is perfect for your next Mexican fiesta.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 60 ml organic tequila
- 30 ml fresh lime juice (sourced from local farmers markets)
- 30 ml organic agave syrup
- 15 ml Cointreau or another organic orange liqueur
- Ice (preferably made with filtered water)
- Sea salt for rimming (optional)
- Lime wheel or wedge for garnish
GET CREATING:
-
Prep the Glass: Rim your glass with sea salt. To do this, rub a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip it into a Glass Dip Bowl of sea salt.
-
Juice the Limes: Use fresh, locally sourced limes from the farmers market. Cut them in half and juice them to get 30 ml of fresh lime juice. We recommend using a Wood Fibre Chopping Board to avoid any micro plastics being transferred into you drink.
-
Mix the Drink: In a shaker, combine the organic tequila, fresh lime juice, organic agave syrup, and Cointreau. Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
-
Serve: Fill your rimmed glass with ice (again, preferably made with filtered water). Strain the margarita mixture into the glass & garnish with a lime wheel or wedge.
Tips for Eco-Conscious Choices:
- Tequila: Choose an organic tequila brand that supports sustainable farming practices.
- Limes: Buy limes from local farmers markets to support local agriculture and reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation.
- Agave Syrup: Opt for organic agave syrup from sustainable sources.
- Ice: Make ice using filtered water to ensure purity and reduce plastic waste from bottled water.
- Garnish: Use every part of the lime to minimize waste. The leftover lime peel can be composted or used in other recipes.
