Things to do in Byron Bay

We have absolutely loved having our store open in Byron Bay and meeting so many of you! We've had our marketing team, product team and even Sophie down at our Pop Up Shop on Fletcher Street serving customers and having a chat to everyone that walks in.

We've met locals, visitors and newbies to the area and it has been so refreshing to not only share our love for our products, but also share our love for this beautiful place that we all come home. Byronshire (and the whole of Australia really!) is without doubt one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

One of the top questions we've been asked is what to do, where to eat, and generally to share our tips so we thought it was about time you get to know our favourite spots and we'd love to hear yours too!

We ask with respect that when visiting anywhere away from home you follow the ethos of sustainable travel. Respect local people, support local businesses and minimise waste. Take a million memories not a million photographs. Acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.

Seed & Sprout pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today and everyday.

1. Yullis Restaurant

So many of us in the office lead a plant based diet so it's no surprise that Yullis is one of our favourite places to eat out! The menu is all vegan, and it's YUM! If you don't walk that walk, don't be put off because the flavours and fusions they come up with will knock the socks off anyone hungry for some delicious grub. They offer plates or a banquet option and the cocktails are incredible too! They've just moved locations to 21/1 Carlyle Street so go say hi or book a table to be safe!

2. Banya Bathhouse

The Banya is a new addition to the area and we are in love! It's built inside a 1920's bank and the renovations are absolutely beautiful. It's a social bathhouse so it's a bit of a different vibe to what you might be used to. The sauna and cold plunge pool are our favourites and the rooftop chill out area is to die for. They're open 7 days a week 9am till late so go check them out.

3. Toast The Sun - Byron Sunrise Experience

The ultimate beach picnic for that special occasion. Need we say more?

4. Minyon Falls

There are so many beautiful falls surrounding Byron and one of our favourites has to be Minyon Falls. While some of the walking tracks are still closed from the floods (which gives you and idea on how bad the damage was in the February 2022 floods!) the newly built viewing platform is open as well as the walk from the day use area to the base of the falls. Beautiful in all weathers, enjoy it on a rainy day in Byron!

5. Springbrook Purling Falls Walk

While it's not in Byronshire (or even NSW) Springbook is an iconic National Park just across the border and holds a special place in our hearts. There are lots of different walks and each one is as beautiful as the next. As it's up in the rainforest it'll often be raining up there despite being a sunny day down on the coast so always take layers and a rain jacket. Remember to support the local cafes while you're there.

6. Combi - Cult Favourite Breakfast Place

Full of colour, full of life and full of fresh delicious smoothies, plates and coffee this is the place to grab breakfast when you're in town. The dragon fruit bowl is one of favourites! The perfect spot to chill and people watch in between the beach and dinner.

7. Tweed Regional Gallery

Looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of Byron? Tweed Regional Gallery is a beautiful place to spend a long afternoon. With an art centre dedicated to the career, life and legacy of Margaret Olley - Australia’s most celebrated painter of still life and interiors - and constantly changing exhibitions as well as a beautiful balcony cafe overlooking the hinterland this should be on your list while in the area.

8. Our Pop Up Shop - 5/8 Fletcher Street

If you're coming to Byron then don't forget to come and say hi in store! We can't wait to meet you.
