From Hardship to Hope: Why We're Proud to Support the S.H.I.F.T Project

What does it actually take to rebuild a life? Not just financially, but practically? Knowing there's food in the fridge, fuel in the tank, and someone in your corner helping you plan for a future that feels possible. That's exactly what the S.H.I.F.T Project provides. And we're proud to have supported their work as part of our 2026 Charitable Giving Program.

Meet the S.H.I.F.T Project

Based in Byron Bay, the S.H.I.F.T Project is an independent, female-led charity that holistically supports women navigating some of life's hardest transitions, from homelessness to independence, and from welfare to genuine wellbeing.

Their Financial Wellbeing Program is built around two things that make an immediate, practical difference: fortnightly food and petrol vouchers that ease the day-to-day pressure, and one-on-one financial coaching sessions that address longer-term security.

To put that in real terms: $2,700 provides one family with 6 financial coaching sessions and 13 food and petrol cards over 6 months. That's sustained, wraparound support, not a one-off handout, but a genuine investment in a family's future.

Our $5,000 donation

Thanks to your purchases, we were able to make a $5,000 donation to the S.H.I.F.T Project which is enough to support nearly two families through the full six-month program.

That's coaching sessions that build real financial confidence. Vouchers that mean no one has to choose between groceries and getting to work. And the kind of breathing room that makes everything else possible.

Why S.H.I.F.T and why first?

When we launched our Charitable Giving Program at the start of 2026, we wanted our first partner to set the tone for everything that followed. The S.H.I.F.T Project felt like the perfect fit.

They're local to Byron Bay, just like us. They're female-led, just like us. And they do deeply meaningful work with women at some of the most vulnerable points in their lives, the kind of work that creates ripple effects far beyond the immediate support.

Financial insecurity doesn't exist in isolation. For many of the women S.H.I.F.T supports, it's tangled up with homelessness, domestic hardship, and the enormous challenge of rebuilding from scratch. Their holistic approach, addressing practical needs and future security at the same time, is what makes their model so powerful.
